A New Diving Experience
Olympic diving boards are the technical core of any competition aquatic facility – the point where athletes preparation, equipment engineering, and regulatory compliance converge.
To withstand continuous mechanical stress and the corrosive environment of chlorinated pools, Patentverwag has developed a 1-metre and a 3-metre olympic pool diving board solutions featuring:
- A 5-6mm fibreglass layer for consistent flex response and surface durability across competition use.
- A reinforced core of five 42mm Swedish pine strips for structural rigidity under repeated load.
- A white anti-slip tread to ensure the safety of the athlete during the Olympic performance.
- An AISI 304 stainless steel structure – stand, handrails and ladders- for corrosion resistance aligned with World Aquatics (FINA) standards.
- An ABS non-slip tread on the access steps for secure ascent.
- A 0.5m-wide board surface, compliant with World Aquatics dimensional specifications for competition springboards.
The Olympic Standards Required For Diving Boards
The International Swimming Federation (FINA) has set a series of standards for Olympic facilities, including design and safety guidelines for every olympic diving board used in competition – governing materials, dimensions, surface finish, and installation height.
Materials and corrosion resistance
Diving boards must be constructed with careful attention to materials selection. They need to be corrosion resistant, especially to chlorine and other pool chemicals, and durable. Stainless steel structural components, such as AISI 304, are the benchmark for long-term performance in aquatic environments.
Dimensions
The board length, width, and thickness are important specifications to adhere to. Competition diving boards are typically 4.8-metre long and 0.5m wide.
Installation height
Olympic pool diving boards are set at 1m and 3m above the water level. The pool itself must have a minimum depth of 5m to ensure safe entry at competition diving speeds.
Flexibility
The board must comply with a controlled spring response, which is crucial for Olympic divers to achieve the exact height and rotation required for a perfect execution. This mechanical property is governed by the board's core construction and surface layering.
The Advantages of Patentverwag Diving Boards
Make every dive count with the Patentverwag olympic diving boards. This indispensable piece of swimming pool equipment will accompany the athletes throughout the entire execution of their leap, ensuring proven reliability and safety.
Since 1971, Patentverwag has been committed to accuracy in every stage of each project. The selection of certified materials – including AISI 304 stainless steel – and the technical construction of our Olympic pool diving boards ensures the best possible performance whilst fully complying with the FINA rigorous standards for competition aquatic facilities.
Our diving boards are built with the athletes' needs in mind. Every component – from the fibreglass surface to the stainless steel structure – is selected to support performance and minimise risk, meeting the exact requirements that competition diving demands.
Your next Olympic performance will be winning with Patentverwag diving boards!
